Cape Trib Camping
It's been an interesting week at Cape Trib Camping, with a visit of the World Champion Whip Cracking! Every night this week he has puts on an entertaining show with good fun and an obvious talent of whip cracking, very entertaining. A nice crowd gathered from the park and even a few locals, bringing along their chairs to enjoy the show. Afterwards, the kids bought their own whips, cracking all over the park and at it again in the morning. Maybe he's motivated the next big thing, right here...
Having been here for just over 2 months, we are enjoying all the different aspects of life in the wet tropics.
We've been lucky enough to have seen the Cape Trib Cassowary on the Camp's driveway again a few times with his young chick. So do yourself a favor and drive slowly. You may just see him just off the side of the drive, or crossing it!
Even though it should be the dry season we have been getting a lot of rain, which keeps the little creeks flowing, making for...
Exploring the Daintree Area is a joy to do. We went to The Daintree Discovery Centre which was amazing, with the 11m high boardwalk over a beautiful part of the rainforest, the audio guide along the walks, the canopy tower which I was too cowardly to tackle!
There's so much to capture your interest like the bush tucker trail and reptile and native fish displays. We really loved the beautiful forest snakes and their pretty patterns. At the cassowary trail, you are educated about the...

See you in the morning!
Cape Tribulation is full of delightful surprises. Every day brings new jaw dropping experiences. One sensational example was the other day when out from the thick forest edging our camp at Cape Trib Camping wandered a beautiful Daddy Cassowary and his chick! They came right up to our awning and stood within a couple of meters of our door! To say I was excited was an understatement. These glorious creatures are so beautiful, the little chick was just foraging casually and dad was not in the...
One of the pleasures staying in this beautiful part of the world (and there are many!) is the joy of coming "home" after traveling to Mossman for our weekly needs and groceries. Returning and driving off the Daintree Ferry is like stepping through a magical door that opens up to the magnificent grandeur of this world heritage rainforest, where its awe inspiring splendor takes your breath away. We never take it for granted and to travel through its man - made...
